This specific lens is a classic reporting lens for the professional photographer, developed according to the requirements of the Art line. The lens is characterized by a durable metal cylinder construction, optical image stabilization, dust and splash waterproof mount, and the renewed AF algorithm for ultra fast and accurate auto focus. Built for the ultra high megapixel era of tomorrow, with the optical performance you can expect from the Art line.

The lens contains three SLD elements and four aspherical elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations, as well as color differences, distortions and other abnormalities for greater clarity and sharpness. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been used to suppress lens flare and ghosting for accurate color fastness and high contrast. In addition to image processing capabilities, the lens has a Hyper Sonic Engine to produce fast, smooth and quiet auto focus performance with full-time manual focus override. An optical stabilizer reduces during handheld shooting vibration for sharper images.
